As if the Miami Heat needed another reason to be a hot NBA championship betting pick this season, they’ve just signed a would-be Final Four hero in Da’Sean Butler. The 42nd pick of the 2010 NBA draft, Butler was a stud for the West Virginia Mountaineers before he obliterated his knee and tore his ACL against Duke.

The Atlanta Hawks were the first and only team to retain one of the top free agents in the free-agent frenzy of 2010. With Joe Johnson signing a mammoth, max contract to stay down South, what the heck do the Hawks do now? Johnson is a great player, but he’s certainly not a leader as we’ve learned over the years.

If there was ever a mixture of young and old in the NBA, it’s the 2010-11 San Antonio Spurs who head in to the season with as many questions as longshots odds in NBA futures. Right now, the Spurs are an afterthought in the Western Conference but some cagey drafting and off-season moves might give them a chance at providing Tim Duncan one last shot at glory.

The one team that is truly supposed to match Team USA for the gold at the upcoming FIBA World Championships is Spain.
