Preview: The
start of LSU's home schedule is always a big deal in
football crazy Baton Rouge. An SEC rival and fellow
Top 10 team being the opponent makes it that much bigger.
That's not even the reason why this game is so important.
In what is likely the most meaningful home opener in
school history, the third-ranked Tigers try to do their
part in boosting the morale of hurricane-ravaged Louisiana
as they meet the No. 10 Volunteers on Saturday night.
LSU looks to use home field advantage to get an important
conference win against the Volunteers. The Tigers play
into revenge Saturday, after handing Tennessee a 31-20
defeat in the last meeting back on December 8, 2001.
The Tigers are favored, opening as 6.5-point chalk.
They are 1-0 ATS this season while the Volunteers are
0-2 ATS. After after being held to 7 points in a loss
against the Gators, Tennessee fans expect their offence
to get on track at Tiger Stadium. If not, this could
be another one for Tennessee's loss column. The Tigers
come off a 35-31 win against the Sun Devils, a game
where they were a 2-point favorite.
