*All teams are measured from a top rating of 25. Home field
advantage is worth 3 points. To calculate the approximate
pointspread, simply add home field advantage to the power
rating of the team playing at home and then subtract the visiting
teams power rating from this total.
1. Indianapolis Colts (4-0) - The Colts are
still getting it done with their much-improved defense, but
last week their offense finally came alive with Peyton Manning
tossing 4 touchdown passes. We all know this squad will have
no problem scoring points this year, but if the defense continues
to amaze (only 26 points allowed this year), Indy is easily
the best team in the NFL at this point in time. Plus, they
have a cakewalk of a schedule upcoming. This week: @ San Francisco.
2. Philadelphia Eagles (3-1) - The Eagles
showed true champion grit last week, overcoming a 17-point
deficit in beating the Kansas City Chiefs in one of the most
hostile environments in the NFL. Their special teams were
abnormally atrocious but Donovan NcNabb had his 2nd straight
magnificant game, throwing for 369 yards and 3 touchdowns
and Terrell Owens caught 11 balls for 171 yards. They did,
however, give up 31 points, but considering the quality of
the Chiefs' offense, I don't think this is any cause for concern.
This week: @ Dallas.
3. Pittsburgh Steelers (2-1) - The Steelers
are off a bye week last Sunday and suddenly are facing a huge
game this Monday night in San Diego. Ben Roethilisberger,
thus far, has avoided the sophmore jinx and this team should
be poised and ready to go after their setback vs New England
2 weeks ago. You can bet HC Bill Cowher will have this team
ready to play. This week: @ San Diego. Click Here For The
