The NBA Player of the Week was named on Tuesday. Phoenix Suns guard Steve Nash has been named the NBA's Western Conference player of the week and Gerald Wallace of the Charlotte Bobcats was chosen the top player in the Eastern Conference.

Nash, last season's NBA MVP, led the league in assists in 9.7 per game in a 3-0 week for the Suns. He also averaged 21.7 points per game, shot 53.1 per cent from the field and had 3.7 rebounds per game.

Nash had a double-double in a 100-88 win over Houston on Nov. 23 with 15 points and 14 assists. He had 27 points, six assists and three rebounds in the Suns' 92-81 win over New Jersey on Friday and contributed 23 points and nine assists in a 90-82 win over the Toronto Raptors on Nov. 22. Wallace averaged 22.3 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists while shooting 58.7 per cent per game in a 2-1 week for the Bobcats. Wallace scored 26 points, grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds and made a season-high five blocks in a 100-82 victory over Washington on Saturday.

It sounds like a broken record, but the top of the rankings remain the same this week, with the Colts, Broncos and Seahawks all winning.

Here is the Week 13 edition of the NFL Power Rankings.

Indianapolis Colts 11-0 - Next up on their quest for a perfect season: Sunday's home game versus the overmatched, 3-8 Tennessee Titans.

Denver Broncos 9-2 - With the Chiefs and Chargers also both on win streaks, the Broncos can't let up over the final weeks of the season.

Seattle Seahawks 9-2 - Seven straight wins has them way ahead in the NFC West, and boasting the best record in the conference.

Cincinnati Bengals 8-3 - Had to put up big points to get past the Ravens last week, but came out alone on top of the AFC North division.

Chicago Bears 8-3 - Have won seven in a row, but their lead in the NFC North would be more comfortable if the Vikings cooled down.

 

Ho hum. Another week and another win for the Indianapolis Colts, who are now 11-0 on the season and sitting firmly atop the Power Rankings yet again. The Colts' dominance of the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night kept them two games up on the Denver Broncos for the best record in the AFC, and three games up on the Jacksonville Jaguars for top spot in the AFC South division. That means Indy is quickly running out of things for which to play. Another couple of weeks of winning, and the great debate will start - should the Colts go all out for a 16-0 record, or should they rest key players like Edgerrin James and Peyton Manning in preparation for the playoffs?
