Joe Thornton had two assists in his debut with San Jose, setting up Jonathan Cheechoo twice, and the Sharks ended a 10-game losing streak with a 5-0 victory over the Buffalo Sabres on Friday night. Evgeni Nabokov made 20 saves for his fourth win of the season - and first since Oct. 15 against Chicago - but left with 11:20 remaining. I'd just like to announce something this morning that I"m sure you ALL just have to know about. If your a Red Sox fan today is a glorious day isn't it? Guess What!!!! Star couple Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck had a baby girl Thursday, their publicists have confirmed. The baby is the first child for Garner and her husband, actor Ben Affleck.Us Weekly reported on its Web site that the birth came after doctors induced labor at a Los Angeles hospital on Wednesday night, a week before Garner's expected due date.

The magazine quoted an unidentified source as saying Affleck was with his spouse "the entire time." Jennifer and Ben, both 33, co-starred in 2003's "Daredevil". They got together in July 2004, a few months after Ben's engagement to Jennifer Lopez was called off. They married on the Caribbean resort of Turks and Caicos on June 29.
